Michigan Medicaid – Name Search Issue

We have been notified by Michigan Medicaid that they have an issue with eligibility requests using subscriber names.  In some instances, active member inquiries are returned as “not found.”  Per Michigan Medicaid “there are several records in the CHAMPS (Michigan Medicaid) database that will not return correctly when a lookup is attempted by using the subscriber’s name. The recommended workaround for this is to avoid using names to do the lookup whenever possible.”  According to their message, they anticipate a resolution on January 25.   However, they also said “that this cannot be confirmed at this time.”  We’ll post updates as they communicate with us.
