CMS Changes Effective 06 23 2013

Effective June 23, CMS will no longer provide benefits for preventive data in the standard response. In order to receive this information, the specific benefit you need must be requested in the eligibility inquiry. We will be making the following updates to accommodate this change.

1.   OneSource will add two drop down boxes.  The first will be labeled Preventative Benefit type (see categories below).  The second is an optional dropdown for an additional preventative benefit.

2.   eCare Online will include a new service type selection called Preventive Benefits that allows the user to make multiple selections by clicking on all the interested Benefit types.

3.  Nebo integrated (AMP) clients will need to contact ecarehelpdesk@passporthealth.com in order to request preventative benefit type defaults.

4.    Intellisource, eCare Next, and EDI clients, will have the ability to select benefit categories in the self service portal.  Go to Payer Permissions, filter by Medicare A&B, click on the Setup Icon, click on Setup link, and check the Preventative Benefits that you want to run by default.

You will have the option to choose from the following benefit categories:

Annual Wellness Visit

Behavioral Screening

Cardiovascular Disease

Colorectal Cancer Screening

Diabetes Screening

Glaucoma Screening

Initial Preventive Physical Examination

Mammography Screening

Pap Test Screening

Pelvic Exam Screening

Pneumococcal Vaccine

Prostate Cancer Screening

Ultrasound Screening for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA)
