Anthem/WellPoint Performance – Anthem Response

Passport also received the following update from Anthem/WellPoint regarding recent performance issues.

Over the past several weeks, WellPoint has experienced an increase in outages and a reduction in availability within our online EDI environment.  We understand these issues impact your business operations and apologize for the disruption. We appreciate your support and patience. 

 The technical remediation efforts within WellPoint have the highest level of visibility and urgency, including the direct involvement of our CIO.  We are working on both immediate and long term changes that will include a  redesign of and upgrades/enhancements to our environment. While the system is stable today, our intense focus will not end until service is measurably and reliably meeting expectations.  Even though changes and enhancements to the environment will be delivered in an expedited manner over the coming days and weeks, we do anticipate the possibility of occasional issues between now and the time we complete the full upgrade. However, please be assured the team is committed to the highest quality of service and future growth and will continue to monitor and fight for stability even during the time of change.
