Medicare Eligibility Psychiatric Lifetime Days

Beginning May 16^th, psychiatric lifetime days were added to the Medicare eligibility response. If your organization isn’t seeing this on your responses, it can be added via the self service portal (instructions below) or by contacting customer support at customer.support@passporthealth.com. Please note that this information should only be accessed by providers with a business need for psych information. CMS will be monitoring access to this data in order to limit unauthorized usage.

Adding Psych Benefits to Medicare Responses via the Self-Service Portal

1. Go to self service portal
2. Click on the payer permissions tab
3. Enter Medicare A and B in the Payer Name field and click Filter
4. Click on the Service Type Override icon
5. Click on the dropdown next to Add New Description
6. Choose Medicare Global Default + Psych Days, Hospital Short Response + Psych Days, or Medicare Hosp Psych + Smoking + Blood
7. Click Add
