Experian Health Release Notes – 01.28.2016

Release Date:
Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:00p.m. CT

Change Overview:
Experian Health  –  Processing Reminder for February 1, 2016
The Experian Health Systems Team remains committed and focused on delivering the highest level of availability for all products. We continue to make technology, people, and process changes to improve our service. In preparation for the increased requests on Monday, February 1, 2016 we want you to be aware of the following issues.

  • BatchSource and Coverage Discovery will be available after 2:00p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016.
  • If your facility sends real-time batches through an EDI interface on Monday, February 1, you may notice a longer delay than usual. This is because we will throttle the number of outstanding and simultaneous inquiries (allowable by the customer) to insure that real-time requests receive processing priority.
  • As usual, it is not necessary to resubmit your eligibility inquiries in the event a payer is unavailable, or when you do not receive an immediate response. We will hold your inquiries and submit them for processing when the payer begins accepting requests.
  • CMS has scheduled downtime on the weekend prior to Monday, February 1. They will have downtime from 6:00a.m. to 11:30a.m. CT on Saturday, January 29, and again at 8:00p.m. CT Sunday, January 30 until 1:00a.m. CT on Monday, February 1.  We have included their original notification on our product dashboard. We also anticipate this downtime may impact Medicare Part A & B eligibility performance during the business day on Monday, February 1.

You may also check our Experian Health Product Dashboard for any future updates.

Epic Alerts Deployment – Update
This Thursday evening, the following Epic NEBO alerts will be retired. If you have an Epic build looking at either of these alerts please update your logic.

  1. NEBO0519: Payer Unable to Respond at current Time This alert has outdated logic and is currently never firing. If a payer is unable to respond to your request you will receive a AAA*42 error. You can also look to the payer status site to see which payers are currently down.
  2. NEBO0514: Humana Medicare Replacement Policy. This alert is redundant to NEBO0505 which lists out all Medicare replacement policies.

OrderSmart is now Order Manager
Effective February 1, 2016, OrderSmart will be branded as Order Manager. Order Manager will be listed in the Experian Health Revenue Cycle Management products under Orders and Scheduling. The only changes are to the login page logo and header logo.  Click here for more detail on our product dashboard.

Reminder – TLS Transaction Encryption
Experian Health will prohibit access to products using TLS 1.0 as of April 1st, 2016. Vulnerabilities have been identified with TLS 1.0 and we are urging customers to configure their browsers to support TLS 1.1 and/or TLS 1.2 as soon as possible. Internet Explorer 11.0 is preferred as Support for TLS 1.1 and 1.2 is enabled by default, but we will continue to allow IE 8.0 as long as TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 are enabled.

Please note that IE Versions 8, 9 and 10 do not have TLS 1.1 and 1.2 enabled by default and must be configured. We encourage you to make certain this is communicated to your IT department as soon as possible. Chrome, Firefox, and Safari will run most Experian Health applications, but not all and therefore not recommended. We apologize for the frequent notice, but it is in our mutual best interest to eliminate this security weakness as soon as possible.
