Passport Release Notes for 09 12 2013

Release Date:  September 12, 2013 10:00pm CT

Change Overview:  No Global changes moving to production this week (09/12/2013).

Special Notes:  The following changes will be moved to production next Thursday night (September 19th).

Self-Service Portal – Allow customers to setup Master/Puppet relationship through the self-service portal (SSP).

The following changes to the Manage Users tab will be activated for all self-service portal customers:

  1.  Add column “Client Switching” that displays current Master/Puppet setup.
  2. If no puppets exist, an Add Puppets link will be displayed.  User can add puppets by clicking on link, selecting the client (from related accounts), choosing the department, and clicking on Add Puppet.
  3.  If puppets exist, link will reflect the number of puppets currently setup.  You can create additional puppets by following the same instructions above for new puppets.
  4. Once you have puppets attached to a user, you can move the master user account by clicking on the Puppets link and clicking the Configure option.    Click Switch Client beside the puppet that you want to convert to a master.

eCare NEXT bar – Passport eCare NEXT login via pop-up window instead of NEXT bar.

  • Passport will redeploy a new eCare NEXT login routine.  We initially moved this change to production on 08/29/13, but had to revert back to a previous version due to an unforeseen issue at five facilities.  These clients are currently testing the newest release.
  • Instead of launching the NEXT bar to login, a pop-up box will appear first so that application settings may be verified and downloaded prior to launching the NEXT bar.  We are confident that this  change will improve the efficiency and reliability of the authentication process.  Click-once users will see the pop-up after September 19th.  However, MSI users will not receive a pop-up prompt until they have downloaded the latest version of the MSI NEXT bar.
  • A user may still login through the NEXT bar if they click cancel on the pop-up.  However, they may have to login again to view configuration changes.
