Passport Product Access with Internet Explorer (IE) 6 Not Allowed After 4.1.15

[03.24.2015]  Reminder to all customers that IE6 will not work with Passport products as of 04.01.2015.

[01.22.2015]  As you probably know, IE6 has known security issues as well as very limited support for many modern web-standards and technologies.  Recent security incidents across the nation highlight the need to discontinue use of  an IE 6 browser due to high potential security risks. We apologize for the short notice, but it is in our mutual best interest to eliminate this security risk as soon as possible.  Passport will disallow access to products using an Internet Explorer (IE) 6 browser as of  April 1, 2015.

Known IE 6 Issues

  • Vulnerable to the known attacks
  • IE6 has limited or buggy support for modern web standards
  • IE6 is not very secure – and lacks privacy features… Newer browsers have considerably better protection against Phishing attacks and other security issues. People still using IE6 are at risk!
  • IE6 lacks many well-loved features – No tabs, RSS integration, etc…
