PatientSimple Browser Support Policy (final notification)

1/19/16 @ 1:54pm CST – updated

This is a follow up to the communication sent out in Q3 of 2015 related to the PatientSimple product security enhancements.  As an integral part of the security enhancement the PatientSimple application is disallowing users running IE8 (Internet Explorer 8)  or previous versions of IE on the new PatientSimple site.  The deadline previously communicated to your organizations was reached on 1/12/2016.  Therefore, Experian Health(formerly Passport Health) will no longer allow access for any users running IE8 or previous versions of IE as of the evening of 1/21/2016.

As a reminder, we are following Microsoft’s browser support policy which can also be found at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/gp/microsoft-internet-explorer.  The newest Internet Explorer offers improved security, increased performance, better backward compatibility, and supports modern technologies that power today’s websites and services.  Microsoft also encourages customers to upgrade and stay up to date on the latest browser for a faster, more secure browsing experience.

Thank you for your understanding.

Regards

PatientSimple Team (a product of Experian Health)

Hello,

The PatientSimple product is increasing the security and functionality in its newest web version rollout of the Online Business Office.  An integral part of the security enhancement is the disallowing of users running IE8 (Internet Explorer 8) on the new site.  PatientSimple will redirect all users attempting to access the new site back to the original site if it is detected they are not running IE9 or a higher version.  Administrators and patients will still be able to access the original site and this will give them more time to upgrade their IE version in order to use the new PatientSimple site.

Protecting our clients and their patients PI, PHI, and PCI data is our number one concern and the most important thing we do.  This will be another step in that direction and it also allows the IT staff time to make the necessary upgrades to a current IE browser prior to 01/12/2016 at which time the old site will no longer be accessible.  It is important to note that while accessing the old site, there will be no access to new features and the user experience will be degraded for both administrators and patients alike.

Microsoft’s browser support policy can be found at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/gp/microsoft-internet-explorer.  The newest Internet Explorer offers improved security, increased performance, better backward compatibility, and supports modern technologies that power today’s websites and services.  Microsoft also encourages customers to upgrade and stay up to date on the latest browser for a faster, more secure browsing experience.

PatientSimple will display this new pop up window in the old site soon to alert users of the upcoming deadlines.  PatientSimple IE8 Discontinue Time Line
